Barite

Specimen # 100475
Mineral: Barite
Location: Jebel Ouichane, Sagangane, Nador, Morocco
Size: 5.1 x 5.0 x 3.6 cm

Description

This is a robust aggregate of sky-blue barite crystals, stacked and crossed in a way that they appear from one viewpoint to radiate from a central point. The blue colour of this one is particularly good and the crystals are sharp, glassy and lustrous. You can get lost in the forest of terminations from one angle!  It is in excellent condition overall for one of these barites – there are a couple of missing tips. This is an aesthetic specimen, with the lustre and colour standing out.
