Barite

Specimen # 100480
Mineral: Barite
Location: Jebel Ouichane, Sagangane, Nador, Morocco
Size: 6.2 x 3.5 x 3.4 cm

Description

This is a very nice cluster of pale blue barite crystals. The barite crystals are sharp, glassy and lustrous, and have a more tabular shape than some of the others – this one and 100478 came from a different pocket than the other ones.  The two most prominent terminations are water-clear. Most of the specimen is in excellent condition, but there are a couple of missing tips – one at the middle in the back, and others at the bottom of the specimen. The piece can be displayed so that they are not a point of focus. Nice blue barite.
