Description

Exceptional, sharp intergrown chalcopyrite crystals, accompanied by a tennantite crystal (confirmed by analysis) on a bed of beautiful delicate siderite blades. Although the tennantite is cool, this piece is really about the lustrous chalcopyrites, standing up off the siderites, nicely isolated. The chalcopyrites have some microscopic calcite crystals dusted across them. The featured chalcopyrites are in excellent condition. There is a flat chalcopyrite patch on the piece (lower left) where a crystal is missing, and a corner of the tennantite as well – these are at the bottom of the specimen as I would display it, so they do not distract from the key focal points. An excellent, aesthetic specimen.
