Location: Gmelinite, Two Islands, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 4.2 x 3.9 x 1.2 cm

Description

This is an aesthetic group of sharp, glassy pink gmelinite crystals up to 1.6 cm. It was collected in 2008. Most of the crystals exhibit subtle twinning features. The crystal faces show the triangular surface patterns typical of many Nova Scotia gmelinites – on many specimens, they aren’t always easy to photograph, but you can make them out these photos if you look closely. In excellent condition – a chip at the back of the termination of the large crystal. The sharpness, lustre and intricate crystal surface patterns give this specimen a classy look.
