Gmelinite

Specimen # 102586
Mineral: Gmelinite
Location: Two Islands, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 2.7 x 1.7 x 1.7 cm

Description

This is a wonderful specimen, featuring a perfect 1.1 cm pink gmelinite crystal at the top of a cluster of smaller crystals. This gmelinite is sharp and glassy, a perfect crystal. The form is dominated by three main triangles (rather than more evenly hexagonal) and it is quite reminiscent of the form of a benitoite. A super gmelinite!
