Gmelinite

Specimen # 102590
Mineral: Gmelinite
Location: Two Islands, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 5.9 x 3.4 x 2.7 cm

Description

This specimen is made up entirely of gmelinite crystals, clustered together. The crystals are very sharp and lustrous, a very light pink hue. The matrix over which these crystals grew is no longer present – the piece is hollow in behind – it’s all gmelinite! In excellent condition, no damage, some minor incomplete spots at the outer edges where this was attached. A beautiful specimen.
