Lepidolite Mica, Albite

Specimen # 100872
Mineral: Lepidolite, Albite
Location: Stak Nala, Gilgit-Skardu Road, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Size: 4.6 x 4.2 x 4.2 cm

Description

This is a beautiful doubly-terminated lavender crystal of lepidolite mica. How often do we see isolated, euhedral lepidolites like this? The crystal is doubly terminated, with a thin pale veneer on one termination (seems like a late-generation overgrowth of paler lepidolite). Perched on microcline and accompanied by albite crystals, this specimen site perfectly for display. In excellent condition – a couple of small rubs/flaked spots. This is a great display specimen of lepidolite!
