Prehnite

Specimen # 102567
Mineral: Prehnite
Location: Taza, Fès-Meknès, Morocco
Size: 5.9 x 3.8 x 2.4 cm

Description

This thin plate of quartz crystals hosts fans of prehnite crystals, grouped such that together they almost have the appearance of a flower. The larger fans form an almost complete wheel and smaller fans stand up in the middle. The prehnite crystals are sharp and lustrous. In excellent condition, no damage. An aesthetic specimen with character.

Please note: these prehnite photographs are colour-balanced to daylight (sunny day, shade – same as all photos on the website). The hue of prehnite certainly depending on the light source – under a warmer light (for example, a 50W halogen bulb), they are a warmer shade of light green.
