Quartz, Epidote

Specimen # 102573
Mineral: Epidote, Quartz
Location: Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan
Size: 6.9 x 4.6 x 2.4 cm

Description

This is a beautiful specimen of quartz and epidote together. The quartz crystals are sharp and lustrous, translucent to transparent – the piece is crystallized underneath with a myriad of glassy quartz crystals (some visible through the larger crystals on the main display side of the piece. The epidote crystals are moderately lustrous, arranged in a group of fans, each comprised of many diverging crystals and terminations. In excellent condition, a couple of quartz contacts at the lower edge and a couple of small incomplete epidotes. This is a striking piece – as much for the quartz as the epidote.
