Schorl Tourmaline

Specimen # 100571
Mineral: Schorl Tourmaline
Location: Laila Peak, Haramosh Range, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
Size: 2.4 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm

Description

The tourmaline crystals from this find are known as the “bullet tourmalines”, for obvious reasons. This is a great little specimen, brilliantly lustrous and sharp, with a super top termination (the bottom is not terminated).  In very good condition, the termination is damage free, and there is relatively minor chipping in a couple of spots, including where the prism faces meet the pyramid faces, also some contacting/chipping on the prism face at the back (as in third photo, would be out of view as I would display it). A wonderful termination, showing crystal forms that are not common for tourmaline.
