Thomsonite

Specimen # 102612
Mineral: Thomsonite
Location: Cap D'Or, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 3.8 x 2.8 x 2.5 cm

Description

A beautiful piece with one main ball of thomsonite crystals along with stilbite crystals and a smaller partial thomsonite ball. (This is thomsonite-Ca.) This thomsonite ball has a lot of sparkle under the lights. Under magnification (with a loupe) one can see that in addition to the thomsonite crystals radiating out from the centre of the ball, there are also lots of tiny crystals in all directions on the surface of the ball. The stilbite on the side of the ball is a great offset. In excellent condition – no damage. A super specimen is from the small 2020 find.
