This specimen features a slender 4.2 cm-tall group of sharp, lustrous, silver bladed löllingite crystals. The löllingite is intimately associated with brilliantly lustrous sharp silver arsenopyrite crystals - one side of the löllingite group is almost completely covered by them, and many small arsenopyrites are perched on the other side as well. Not only does this give the specimen great sparkle, it is also actually quite helpful, as the arsenopyrite crystals have undoubtedly served as good protection for the delicate löllingite crystals. There are also calcite crystals and tiny rosettes of clinochlore crystals on this specimen.

Up until the finds at Huanggang, good sizable crystals of löllingite were rare. These new finds have produced a decent number of well crystallized larger specimens, but because they are very finely bladed crystals, most are damaged to at least some degree (I've seen Huanggang löllingites that look like they've been driven over with a bulldozer just for good measure). This specimen is in exceptional condition - free of damage (a few tiny rubs can be found using magnification).

This is an amazing, aesthetic, top-quality matrix specimen of löllingite!
