Detailed Description

This specimen features beautiful sharp, lustrous andradite crystals to 1.5 cm. The andradites are dark green with some hints of brown hues as well. In excellent condition, no damage to these crystals. There are patches on this specimen where there were andradite crystals at one time in geological history, but these areas show crystallization texture, indicating that they date to a late stage of crystallization. These are great andradite crystals.

About these Andradites

These andradites come from a mountainous border region of Afghanistan near Pakistan. It is an area that has been quite dangerous and sometimes inaccessible in recent times. The first specimens from the Spin Ghar range became known in the late 1980s and sporadic finds have been made since then.
