An elegant midnight blue crystal of Tsumeb azurite, with great sharpness and lustre. Although it appears almost black at first glance, it is an amazing blue- when directly backlit with an LED lamp, the top half of the crystal is like clear deep blue glass. A beautiful dioptase from Tsumeb, with top sharpness, colour and lustre.  The main crystal is 2.2 cm, and is associated with small balls of malachite. This is a specimen of pseudomorphs of arsentsumebite after hexagonal mimetite crystals. One crystal is hollow – seems fully crystallized (although on one edge a chip reveals some internal cerussite replacement). Perched on the arsentsumebite are small cyclic twins of cerussite.
