Analcime

Specimen # 101149
Mineral: Analcime
Location: Analcime, Amethyst Cove, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 6.4 x 3.8 x 2.5 cm

Description

Three sharp analcime crystals to 1.4 cm are sitting on glistening light brownish stilbite crystals. The analcime crytals are translucent and one has a little more transparency. The vug in which these were found was quite narrow – it’s  remarkable that analcime crystals this size were able to form within it. This specimen was collected in June 2015. In excellent condition, no damage. The backside of the upper analcime is partly hollow and looks as though it may have growen around something that is no longer there. A very nice arrangement of fine analcime crystals.
