Analcime

Specimen # 101157
Mineral: Analcime
Location: Analcime, Five Islands, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 6.0 x 4.9 x 1.0 cm

Description

This aesthetic piece is a thin plate of particularly glassy, lustrous analcime crystals up to 0.9 cm. The translucent analcime crystals are very sharp and bright looking, with lots of sparkle. The lustre is bright all over the specimen – I’ve just highlighted a few crystals in the photos, but the lustre is consistent. In excellent condition – no damage, just a few incomplete crystals at the peripheral edges where it was originally attached to the surrounding rock. Beautiful, high-quality analcime.
