Analcime

Specimen # 101359
Mineral: Analcime
Location: Analcime, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
Size: 4.6 x 2.6 x 1.9 cm

Description

Analcime is one of the minerals that has been well-known from Mont Saint-Hilaire since the 1960s. There have been many fine crystals, but a common problem is that Mont Saint-Hilaire analcime specimens are very often contacted, having formed in groups. This is a particularly aesthetic one, perched atop a thin bladed crystal of microcline. One one side, the microcline crystal is covered with smaller analcime crystals. In excellent condition – no damage, a small contact to a lower back face of the analcime, not visible from displyed and only relevant viewed from 360 degrees. An excellent, attractive Mont Saint-Hilaire analcime specimen.
