Detailed Description

This specimen features two super main andradite crystals, with many small sparkling smaller andradites and a few small gemmy epidote crystals in association. The large crystals are very dark, and under strong light one can see that they are deep red. The smallest of the garnet crystals are very pale in colour. In excellent condition, no damage (with magnification one can find minor edge wear in spots, but you need magnification for this). This is a great andradite.

About these Andradites

These andradites come from a mountainous border region of Afghanistan near Pakistan. It is an area that has been quite dangerous and sometimes inaccessible in recent times. The first specimens from the Spin Ghar range became known in the late 1980s and sporadic finds have been made since then.
