Azurite

Specimen # 201200
Mineral: Azurite
Location: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
Size: 17. 0 x 8.0 x 7.0 cm

Description

A large cabinet specimen from Milpillas with deep midnight-blue azurite crystals up to 2.3 cm.

The main grouping of crystals is an intense hue of blue, and the crystals are sharp and highly lustrous. In excellent condition overall – most crystals are complete and free of damage. A few incomplete crystals – from the display face (second photo), they are at the periphery. In this view, two appear to be contacts (as opposed to damage).  Sits perfectly for display as photographed.

The crystals are draped all over the matrix, front and back, as shown in the third photo (end on) and fourth photo (back). This is a wonderful Milpillas azurite!
