Barite

Specimen # 100479
Mineral: Barite
Location: Jebel Ouichane, Sagangane, Nador, Morocco
Size: 6.6 x 5.6 x 3.8 cm

Description

A good-sized cluster of pale blue barite crystals, this one prominently features the complex crystal edges that give the appearance of the beautiful “curved” crystals one sees with some of these specimens. The crystals are sharp and lustrous. In excellent condition – the main crystal aggregates have no damage, and otherwise there are a couple of missing tips and crystals (particularly at the edge where the specimen was removed from the surrounding rock).  An excellent specimen, this one is quite dramatic.
