Beryl var. Aquamarine

Specimen # 200704
Mineral: Beryl, var. Aquamarine
Location: Erongo Mountains, Karibib, Erongo Region, Namibia
Size: 8.5 x 6.5 x 4.2 cm

Description

This is a striking pair of aquamarine crystals with smaller crystals in association. The upper parts of the crystals are transparent, glassy, and underscore the “aqua” in aquamarine – a beautiful light aqua hue (and of course deeper, looking down into the crystals from their terminations). Lower on the piece (and on the edge of one termination on the left-hand-side crystal), these crystals exhibit interesting etching and recrystallization.  From the Gerald Panneton collection. In excellent condition (a couple of tiny nicks). This is a beautiful Erongo aqua!
