Specimen # 100857
Mineral: Bournonite
Location: Les Malines District, Saint-Laurent-Le-Minier, Gard, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Size: 6.8 x 6.6 x 2.3 cm

Description

An excellent plate of “cogwheel” bournonite crystals up to 2.5 cm across. The crystals are well defined, with steel greay colour and a silky metallic lustre. In very good condition – the central area of the piece has no damage, and around the periphery there are incomplete crystals and a bit of chipping. Mounted for display as shown in the first photograph, this piece looks great in the cabinet. This is a fine bournonite specimen from the contemporary classic European locality, Saint-Laurent-le-Minier.
