Brochantite

Specimen # 101254
Mineral: Brochantite
Location: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
Size: 4.0 x 3.7 x 3.7 cm

Description

Highly lustrous large brochantite crystals are perched on a near-white matrix to comprise this striking specimen. The brochantite crystals are substantial – the largest one is 1.1 x 0.6 cm. The contrast stands out, while there are a few glints of green among the brochantites. In excellent condition – the main crystals are super – there is a missing crystal and there are chipped tips in inconspicuous places and a couple of rubs if you’re searching with a loupe for them (some incomplete crystals around the side/back). Relative to the piece, these are minor, and what you see is the dark lustrous brochantite on the light matrix on a piece that stands perfectly for display as photographed. These are great brochantite crystals!
