Brochantite

Specimen # 101256
Mineral: Brochantite
Location: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
Size: 5.3 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm

Description

This specimen is highly distinctive, featuring a small number of prismatic brochantite crystals on a pale matrix. The largest crystal is 1.6 cm. These brochantite crystals are sharp, with bright glassy lustre and dark with green internal highlights. In excellent condition – the central crystal has a minor rub and three crystals, one tiny, are incomplete at the periphery (the one at left appears complete from the display angle). This is a gorgeous specimen of large isolated brochantite crystals – remarkable for the species.
