Brochantite

Specimen # 101259
Mineral: Brochantite
Location: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico
Size: 4.8 x 3.3 x 1.6 cm

Description

This is a plate of crystals that formed in a narrow seam where many of the crystal terminations did not have room to develop. The undeveloped terminations are bright green, with a frosty crystallization texture visible with magnification. These give this specimen more green than most of the brochantite specimens with these more prismatic crystals. The brochantite crystals are sharp, lustrous and show good deep green colour. In excellent condition, a few missing tips on close inspection. A pretty brochantite.
