This is a beautiful aggregate of brucite crystals on matrix. The individual bructe crystal terminations are easy to see without magnification. This specimen is different – it is a discrete disc-like aggregate of crystals on matrix (and fortunately, a bit of the matrix behind the brucite is absent, allowing light to pass through the brucite). The yellow of this brucite has a distinctive greenish hue.
In excellent condition, no damage.
A sweet, colourful brucite.
About These Brucites
I’ve done my best to colour-balance them accurately (daylight, shade). I always do that anyway, of course, but I mention it specifically because some mineral specimens are susceptible to really skewing away from daylight appearance when photographed.
