Calcite

Specimen # 101877
Mineral: Calcite
Location: Verchniy Mine, Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russia
Size: 9.0 x 7.9 x 4.8 cm

Description

This is a really sweet specimen – a trio of calcite crystals is perched on sparkling quartz crystals. These calcite crystals are in parallel growth, and the arrangement with the three “descending peaks” is particularly aesthetic. The largest is 4.6 cm tall. There are a few small black ilvaite crystals in association, mostly at the back and underneath. In excellent condition, no damage. Stands perfectly for display as photographed. The Verchniy Mine closed years ago, and this piece is from a Russian collection. A very attractive display specimen.
