Description

This is a gorgeous twinned calcite crystal – 3.9 cm, sharp and lustrous, with fantastic re-entrants. The orange hues are imparted by iron oxide on the crystal faces (this iron oxide seems to be on the surface and not inside the crystal). This calcite has beautiful internal play of light. In excellent condition, very minor edge chips. From the John S. White Pennsylvania Collection, originally acquired from Carter Rich.
