Description

Detailed Description

This specimen features a section of a vein filled with intensely pink cobaltoan calcite crystals – super colour! At top right is a pseudo-stalactite, crystallized all around. To me this specimen gives the impression of a cascade of pink coming down from upper right to lower left. In excellent condition and stands perfectly for display as photographed. This is a striking cabinet specimen from this famous locality.

About These Agoudal Mine Specimens

The Agoudal Mine has been a famous source of many excellent mineral specimens for years. In particular, it has been known for beautiful cobaltoan calcite. The locality has included underground and surface workings. I understand from Tomasz Prazkier that all workings at the Agoudal Mine have now ceased. This is sad news for mineral collectors, as the Agoudal Mine has produced some of the finest cobaltoan calcites and roselites ever found anywhere.
