Carrollite

Specimen # 200087
Mineral: Carrollite
Location: Carrollite, Kamoya II Mine, Kamoya, Kambove District, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo
Size: 2.4 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm

Description

An absolutely superb carrollite crystal – sharp, nice lustre, complete all around with no points of contact. This crystal is a simple octahedron with very small cube face modifications – an less common habit for carrollite. In excellent condition, minute specks of contact (it was enclosed in surrounding rock). This crystal is like a silver metallic crystal model. A killer thumbnail.
