Location: Meckley's Quarry, Mandata, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, USA
Size: 8.7 x 5.1 x 4.0 cm

Description

Beautiful light blue crystals of celestine perched on a bed of sparkling colourless celestine crystals. These crystals are glass-sharp with good lustre – the terminal faces are incredibly bright. In excellent condition overall, one crystal lower on the piece and one at the outer edge are incomplete, and otherwise only very minor imperfections. From the classic Pennsylvania celestine locality, Meckley’s Quarry (began production in 1936), this specimen is from the John S. White Pennsylvania collection, acquired originally from Carter Rich. The main central celestine is such a great crystal.
