Cerussite

Specimen # 100835
Mineral: Cerussite
Location: Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Size: 4.4 x 3.6 x 2.4 cm

Description

This is a gorgeous group of twinned, glassy cerussite crystals. The cerussites are highly lustrous and translucent to transparent, and the crystals are complete all around, with arrested development at the matrix. In truly excellent condition – to the eye there’s one chip, not near any horizon, and not seen from the display angle shown in the first two photographs. (It’s about half way down the piece when viewed from the angle depicted in the third photo, not obvious unless you are bouncing a light right off it – it is to the right of the internal reflections halfway down in that third photo). This is a beautiful specimen and a classic.
