Cerussite

Specimen # 100608
Mineral: Cerussite
Location: Daoping Mine, Gongcheng Co., Guilin Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang A.R., China
Size: 3.1 x 2.9 x 1.8 cm

Description

This cerussite has beautiful twinning, sharp, glassy faces, and aesthetic salmon-coloured zoning. Daoping cerussites of this style came out of one or two finds (depends on who is giving the information(!)) – they are distinctive and very attractive. The total number of these is very small and only a few are top quality, free of damage. This is the only one I have been able to acquire. In exceptional condition – you can find two minute edge chips if you seek them out, and here is a little bit of chipping at the side of the lower left edge (but under magnification much of that little spot seems in fact to be crystallized.) This is a gorgeous little cerussite.
