Chalcopyrite, Siderite

Specimen # 100266
Mineral: Chalcopyrite, Siderite
Location: Kaiwu Mine, Hezhang Co., Ghizou Province, China
Size: 6.6 x 5.0 x 4.5 cm

Description

Of this lot from Kaiwu, this is the specimen with the largest fine chalcopyrite crystals – it is almost a floater, with only small points of attachment. The chalcopyrite crystals are sharp, lustrous, and top quality – no damage. They are adorned with intergrown rosettes of pale brown, delicate siderite crystals. There are two small tennantite crystals around the side at the very base (not really visible from main display angle). Excellent specimen!
