Clinoatacamite, Gypsum

Specimen # 101381
Mineral: Clinoatacamite, Gypsum
Location: Clinoatacamite, Gypsum, Lily Mine, Pisco Umay, Ica Dept., Peru
Size: 7.3 x 6.1 x 4.0 cm

Description

This piece features lustrous, dark green clinoatacamite crystals, with a beautiful water-clear gypsum (var. selenite) crystal perched in the vug, over top of some of the clinoatacamites. Looking at the sharp clinoatacamite crystals through the selenite, it’s almost as if they were under water, or trapped in ice – very cool. In excellent condition. Stands perfectly for display as photographed. This is a great specimen.

[This specimen was originally listed on the website as atacamite, rather than clinoatacamite.]
