Danburite

Specimen # 100371
Mineral: Danburite
Location: Charcas, Mun. de Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico
Size: 10.3 x 4.7 x 4.4 cm

Description

Exceptionally sharp and lustrous danburite with a beautiful termination. All the play of light in the top of the crystal is due to internal fracturing – it is brilliant. There is no damage to the termination of the main crystal (couple of tiny edge chips not at the top, visible with magnification). This main crystal has the palest hint of pink colour and the glassiness at the top is as bright as danburite gets – and there are nice modification faces at the termination as well.Stand perfectly for display. The narrow sloped crystal on the right has some damage to its termination, but it’s not distracting as displayed. The main crystal glows under the lights – jumps out of the display cabinet
