Description

A sharp, lustrous green diopside crystal in white calcite. Superb contrast!

The diopside is in excellent condition, no damage. There are a couple of small natural surface imperfections, not on the main faces and not at all distracting. The base of this specimen has been trimmed with a saw cut underneath, so it stands perfectly for display as photographed. This specimen was brought out by Dudley Blauwet.

Given that diopside is not an uncommon mineral, it’s surprising that great matrix specimens like this are so hard to find. This is a super display piece – it really jumps out!
