Description

This is a striking combination specimen, with colours representing both the cobalt and the copper that have made this region word famous. The intense pink cobaltoan dolomite crystals are brilliantly lustrous, giving the piece a lot of sparkle, and perched on top are balls and groups of tiny dark green malachite crystals. In excellent condition, no damage visible to the eye, other than the usual incomplete crystals at the edges where the piece was attached to the surrounding rock – with magnification a couple of the smaller malachite aggregates are incomplete, but that is hard to discern. The back of this piece has been trimmed with a saw, to reduce the matrix. A beautiful, colourful specimen!
