Epidote

Specimen # 102576
Mineral: Epidote, Quartz
Location: Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan
Size: 4.8 x 4.0 x 3.6 cm

Description

Superb fans of lustrous divergent epidote crystals, intergrown in a beautiful grouping. The fans themselves radiate out in different directions. The epidote is as lustrous as it gets – beautiful sharp crystals! In excellent condition.

I have to admit near-defeat trying to convey this specimen in still photos – it ranks as one of the toughest pieces I’ve shot. There are so many angles, particularly with the curved fans, and they are coming out toward the display view, as I would display it. Hopefully the close-ups help. It’s a really great piece and looks fantastic, supported to stand as photographed.
