Epidote, Quartz

Specimen # 102572
Mineral: Epidote, Quartz
Location: Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan
Size: 7.2 x 4.1 x 3.9 cm

Description

A beautiful combination of epidote and quartz – the epidote in sharp, lustrous fans, and the quartz as transparent to translucent sharp, glassy crystals. Each epidote fan is comprised of distinguishable crystals, with a myriad of diverging prism faces and a series of joined terminations. In excellent condition, very minor peripheral contacts in a couple of places and some incomplete areas on the back (it’s not a full 360 specimen). One can see by the way some small quartz crystal parts wrap around some of the epidote that there might have been some separation of epidote crystals from one another before the quartz crystallized. This is a wonderful display specimen!
