Detailed Description

This is a dramatic cluster of sharp, intensely-coloured lustrous erythrite crystals. The parallel-growth crystals just to the left of centre (1.7 cm tall and pristine) have razor-sharp terminations. The terminations to the right side of the piece are less distinct, but most are complete. In excellent condition, one incomplete termination at upper right and one on the left hand side of the piece. Stands perfectly for display as photographed. Wonderful colour and form.

About these Erythrites

Erythrite crystals from Bou Azzer are generally regarded as the finest in the world. The challenge with erythrite, however, is to obtain fine-quality specimens – the mineral is so soft and delicate that most specimens are damaged in the removal process or subsequent transportation. The erythrites in this lot are superb quality specimens of this beautiful mineral.
