Fluorite

Specimen # 100707
Mineral: Fluorite
Location: Fluorite, Nikolaevskiy Mine, Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russia
Size: 5.6 x 4.9 x 4.2 cm

Description

This is a cluster of colourless fluorite crystals up to 2.8 cm – what is super about this one is that it features dodecahedral fluorites. The crystals on this specimen have frosty dodecahedral surfaces, but the small square cube faces are more lustrous and act like little windows to allow you to look inside the transparent crystals. In excellent condition – no damage (except around the peripheral edges and back, where it was attached to adjacent rock).

Aesthetic, with character, particularly the little “stack” of crystals with a larger one on top.  Really nice.
