Fluorite

Specimen # 101199
Mineral: Fluorite
Location: Fluorite, Chebka Sidi Said, Midelt, Khenifra Province, Morocco
Size: 4.0 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm

Description

This is an exceptional yellow fluorite. The main fluorite crystal itself measures 2.5 x 2.4 cm on its edges. This crystal is sharp, with a glassy lustre and a beautiful deep golden yellow. In excellent condition, to the eye virtually pristine – one small nick in a back edge, a couple of contacts and rubs on the back, and otherwise you need magnification to discern any micro chips. It is stunning. These usually occur in cavities and veins where they are all interconnected, and so  specimens like this all have some amount of contacting at the sides or underneath (this one does too, lower and underneath) – to find an isolated crystal like this standing free above the rest like this is remarkable. This specimen should be mounted on a stand to display optimally (which I’m happy to include if you like).

A superb fluorite!
