Fluorite

Specimen # 100685
Mineral: Fluorite
Location: Tounfit, Boumia, Khenifra Province, Morocco
Size: 7.5 x 6.3 x 3.0 cm

Description

A highly unusual specimen, the pale lavender fluorite crystals exhibit separate phases of growth, clearly defined by colour zoning. The crystals combine three forms visible without magnification – cube, octahedron and dodecahedron. In excellent condition – just incomplete crystals around the edges where it was removed from the surrounding rock. The dark-zoned areas are particularly great, with complex crystal overgrowths projecting out over them. Excellent texture and form, a distinctive fluorite.
