Fluorite

Specimen # 200715
Mineral: Fluorite
Location: Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA
Size: 12.6 x 9.2 x 7.2 cm

Description

A gorgeous stack of intense purple fluorite cubes from Elmwood. These fluorite crystals are sharp, with good lustre typical of Elmwood fluorites, and with outstanding colour and internal glow under good lighting. These crystals are grape-juice purple! The fluorites are associated with contrasting sparking white quartz, and the large fluorites are offset by beautiful smaller fluorite crystals on the quartz – they are sharp and zoned, with the slight accentuation of the corners that one sometimes sees with Elmwood fluorites. In excellent condition, minor nicks, insignificant in the context and for the size of this piece. From the Gerald Panneton collection. This is a superb purple fluorite!
