Fluorite, Quartz

Specimen # 100803
Mineral: Fluorite, Quartz
Location: Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
Size: 6.2 x 4.2 x 3.2 cm

Description

This group of quartz crystals from the Yaoganxian Mine hosts water-clear, lavender fluorite cubes. They are so sharp and lustrous, they look like transparent glass. To the eye, no damage except at the periphery where the quartzes were attached to adjacent quartz in the surrounding rock. With magnification I can find one tiny chip, that’s it – these fluorites are in excellent condition! Stands perfectly for display as photographed. Beautiful specimen.
