Gmelinite

Specimen # 102580
Mineral: Gmelinite
Location: Two Islands, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
Size: 2.3 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm

Description

This is a fantastic specimen – sharp, pink gmelinite crystals. These crystals have top lustre and beautiful surface growth features. The crystals are in excellent condition – no damage. The crystals grew up against basalt, so the underside of the specimen is that contact, and the crystals did not grow to complete shape in that direction (however this is not damaged, everything that crystallized is part of the specimen). A superb gmelinite thumbnail!
