Bright, sharp lustrous clusters of edge-on hematite rosettes cover this specimen. In places, there are tiny crystals of reddish quartz in association. These hematite crystals are brilliant.

About These Hematites

These fine hematite specimens were excavated from a deposit in the hills extremely close to the town of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The deposit was worked in the 1970s and 1980s, and these specimens date back to those workings.
