Detailed Description

This piece features edge-on hematite roses on a matrix of druzy quartz crystals. The hematite crystals have very good lustre and the specimen has very nice overall aesthetics, balanced by the quartz crystals. In excellent condition –  just some incomplete crystals around the periphery where the specimen was removed from the surrounding rock. Really nice hematite, from a cool locality.

About these Hematites

These fine hematite specimens were excavated from a deposit in the hills extremely close to the town of Saint-Marie-aux-Mines.
