Detailed Description

A very fine plate of edge-on hematite rosettes, with very good lustre and sharpness.  In excellent condition – incomplete crystals around the edges where the specimen was removed from the surrounding rock. These are very cool intergrown crystals – unusual for hematite, and this is an uncommon locality. Nice!

About these Hematites

These fine hematite specimens were excavated from a deposit in the hills extremely close to the town of Saint-Marie-aux-Mines.
